Important Info | Makiki Valley Loop Trail
Peep the pics – the trail’s in tip-top shape! It’s my jam now! Great for a chill exercise sesh or a buddy hangout. Expect a tad of sweat action – some parts got a bit of an incline. Overall, I rate it as an EASY hike. Scope out the vid (yep, it’s up there!) for the real deal on the terrain.
We kicked off by veering RIGHT – hit up Maunalaha Trail first, followed by Makiki Valley Trail, and closed with Kanealole Trail. Good vibes all the way!

Trails
This hike is a triple threat – THREE (3) trails all linked up:
- Maunalaha Trail
- Makiki Valley Trail
- Kanealole Trail
They’re all in cahoots, well-kept, and signposted. Snapped a pic of the map at the trailhead, just to be on the safe side!
What to Pack
Hydration is key! Pack at least 16oz/500ML of water, but I’d roll with 32oz/1L for good measure.
Go for a small backpack – terrain’s a bit bumpy. Ditch the side bags, totes, purses, etc. – leave ’em in the car.
Rock comfy workout gear – think hiking in style! No need for heavy-duty hiking shoes; your trusty tennis shoes or runners will do just fine. No spikes required!
